I currently offer a special concession rate for any woman who is
either pregnant or has a child under the age of 2 years.

Birth is where it all begins

Motherhood is the most important job in the world. But it is also the hardest!

It may be much harder for you to ask for help now than it ever was before?

You may be nervous about showing any weaknesses, now that someone depends on you being strong?

You may be very scared about what other people think about your skills as a new mother?

Becoming a parent is a crucial time for everyone; it is wrought with mixed emotions, some joyous, some terrifying. This is when you are most in need of support.
Finding a way to care for yourself and for your baby is a very delicate task. And it is too much to be expected to know how to do this without any help.

I am here to listen to you, help you understand and come to terms with what you are feeling. You and I will work together as a team, exploring the anxiety as well as the joys of bringing a new life into the world. This work can be very moving and requires sensitivity and respect. My focus is on providing a safe and confidential environment for this process to develop.

I come to visit you in your home, so you do not have to worry about getting organised and travelling while pregnant or with a young baby.
I am here to listen to your unique perspective and never make assumptions on your behalf or judge your situation. I do not know any of your friends or family and I will never judge you for being angry or upset.
Mothering is an organic experience and is different for every woman and baby. My work is about empowering you as a mother and giving you the confidence and energy you need for the job.

Becoming a mother is a tremendous rite of passage. Old wounds experienced in childhood are likely to resurface when confronted with the raw neediness of a newborn baby.
Giving up a career and loosing contact with friends because of the changes in lifestyles will also contribute towards a loss of self-confidence. Coming to terms with a new self-image as a woman when the shape of your body changes through pregnancy is yet another unexpected challenge. It is no surprise that pregnant women and new mothers often find themselves feeling desperate without knowing where to turn.
Talking to a qualified counsellor or psychotherapist can really help avoid some of the hardest times becoming overwhelming.

It takes time to adapt to the new demands on your life and it is nearly impossible to be fully prepared for the relentless responsibilities and emotions associated with parenthood. However, by investing now in your good mental and emotional health, some of these challenges can be turned into real opprtunities in deepening the experience of starting a family.

"Having a qualified counsellor to talk you through your current experiences and emotions is a must-have for all women preparing for motherhood."

"Too many women suffer in silence as they fear that admitting to feeling overwhelmed, tired, irritated or isolated would bring judgement on their ability as a mother and make them feel worse."
